Mexico City to Acapulco tolls on the Autopista del Sol (2026): $826 by car

Driving from Mexico City to Acapulco on the Autopista del Sol means passing five CAPUFE casetas: Tlalpan, Alpuyeca, Paso Morelos, Palo Blanco, and La Venta. Under the table in force since 13 April 2026 a car pays $826 in total and a motorcycle about $413. Here is the breakdown, row by row, from the official table.

MexicoTolls is an independent estimator and is not CAPUFE or the SICT. Tariffs were read from CAPUFE's Tarifas Vigentes 2026, Red FONADIN, on 3 September 2026; the totals are our arithmetic. Confirm at the booth before you travel.

Two blocks of the table, one journey

The Autopista del Sol is federal highway 95D, operated by CAPUFE within the Red FONADIN. The official table shows the journey in two blocks: block 17, México–Cuernavaca, with the Tlalpan caseta, and block 1, Cuernavaca–Acapulco, with the remaining four. The Cuernavaca–Acapulco block prints its own subtotal of $670 for a car and $335 for a motorcycle, which matches the sum of its four plazas.

Caseta by caseta, 2026 tariffs

The table lists the casetas in the Mexico City → Acapulco direction with the through rate (D) covering the full section behind each plaza. All amounts include VAT and are in force from 13 April 2026.

Casetas on the 95D between Mexico City and Acapulco, CAPUFE Tarifas Vigentes 2026
CasetaSection chargedMotorcycle (M)Car (A)
TlalpanMexico City – Cuernavaca$78$156
Ing. Francisco Velasco Durán (Alpuyeca), through rateCuernavaca – Puente de Ixtla$50$100
Paso Morelos, through ratePuente de Ixtla – Chilpancingo$104$209
Palo BlancoChilpancingo – Tierra Colorada$95$190
La VentaTierra Colorada – Acapulco$85$171
Total Mexico City → Acapulco≈ $413$826

The car total is $826: $156 at Tlalpan plus the $670 Cuernavaca–Acapulco corridor. For a motorcycle the row-by-row sum is $413, and the corridor's printed subtotal of $335 plus $78 also gives $413; the table rounds each caseta, so the useful figure is about $413.

Leaving early: intermediate rates

When you do not drive the full section, the intermediate rates marked I apply. At Alpuyeca, Cuernavaca–Alpuyeca costs $68 for a car and Alpuyeca–Puente de Ixtla $32. At Paso Morelos, Puente de Ixtla–Paso Morelos is $80 and Paso Morelos–Chilpancingo $126. The Tres Marías A and B casetas charge $56 for Tres Marías–Cuernavaca. Leaving the capital there is also the Viaducto Elevado Tlalpan, with a through rate of $186 for a car on the Mexico City–Cuernavaca section, an elevated alternative to the $156 Tlalpan caseta.

Buses and trucks

For reference, the Cuernavaca–Acapulco corridor costs $1,141 for a two-axle bus (B2), $1,134 for a two-axle truck (C2), $1,493 for a C5, and $1,657 for a C9; the Tlalpan caseta charges $301 for B2 and $299 for C2. Motorcycles pay half the car rate by law, which is why Tlalpan is $78 against $156.

How to pay and what backs it

At every CAPUFE plaza you can pay cash to the booth staff in the multimodal lanes, as CAPUFE and the SICT confirmed on 29 July 2026, or with an IAVE tag and interoperable tags. Keep the receipt: a trip on a CAPUFE motorway includes the user insurance, which covers damage to the vehicle and its occupants caused by conditions attributable to the road, such as potholes, animals, objects on the carriageway, or landslides, and civil liability towards third parties once the driver's own insurance is exhausted. In an incident, call 074 or report at the nearest caseta and wait for the adjuster.

What the table does not publish

CAPUFE's table gives neither the distance nor the driving time, so we do not quote them. The SICT's official Traza tu Ruta tool calculates both, but it did not respond from outside Mexico during our review. Our route pages for Mexico City → Acapulco and Cuernavaca → Acapulco show the same figures with their source and verification date.
